About This Privacy Policy

Blake’s Section Lab (“Blake’s Section Lab,” “I,” “me,” or “my”) operates blakessectionlab.com as a professional portfolio displaying Shopify storefront design and front-end development work.

This Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used, and disclosed when you visit blakessectionlab.com (the “Site”), communicate with me, or follow links from the Site to third-party platforms.

The Site is intended to function as a portfolio rather than a direct ecommerce store. It does not currently provide an on-site project inquiry form, newsletter signup, or direct purchasing process. Project inquiries and potential orders are directed to third-party platforms such as Fiverr.

Information Collected

Information You Provide

The Site does not currently ask you to submit personal information through an on-site contact or newsletter form.

If you choose to contact me through Fiverr, email, or another communication channel, I may receive information you voluntarily provide, such as:

  • Your name or platform username;

  • Your email address or other contact information;

  • The contents of your message;

  • Information about your Shopify store, theme, project, or requested service;

  • Files, screenshots, references, or other materials you choose to share; and

  • Information needed to respond to your inquiry or provide an agreed service.

When you communicate through Fiverr or another third-party service, that platform separately collects and processes information under its own privacy policy and terms.

Please do not send passwords, payment-card information, private customer data, access tokens, or other sensitive information through ordinary messages. Store-access credentials should only be shared through an appropriate secure and authorized method when necessary for an agreed project.

Information Collected Automatically

Because the Site is hosted by Shopify, Shopify and its supporting technologies may automatically collect certain technical information when you visit the Site. This may include:

  • Your Internet Protocol address;

  • Browser, device, and operating-system information;

  • General location inferred from your IP address;

  • Language and regional settings;

  • Referring and exit pages;

  • Pages viewed and interactions with Site features;

  • Dates, times, and approximate duration of visits;

  • Cookie identifiers and privacy preferences; and

  • Technical, diagnostic, security, and fraud-prevention information.

I may receive access to limited or aggregated reports concerning Site visits and performance. Shopify may also process information for its own purposes as explained below.

Information the Portfolio Is Not Intended to Collect

The Site is not currently intended to collect:

  • Payment-card or banking information;

  • Billing or shipping addresses;

  • Product-order or return information;

  • Newsletter subscriptions;

  • Product reviews;

  • Wishlist information; or

  • Sensitive personal information.

If direct sales, customer accounts, subscriptions, or additional forms are introduced on the Site, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features are relied upon.

How Information Is Used

Information may be used to:

  • Operate, display, maintain, and secure the Site;

  • Understand general Site use and improve its navigation, content, and performance;

  • Detect, investigate, and prevent technical problems, misuse, or security threats;

  • Respond to questions or project inquiries;

  • Evaluate and discuss potential Shopify development work;

  • Provide services requested through an agreed project;

  • Maintain appropriate business and project records;

  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal rights; and

  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, or lawful requests.

The Site does not currently use an on-site form to build an email-marketing list, and I do not use information collected through ordinary portfolio browsing to send promotional emails or text messages.

Shopify’s Role

The Site is hosted and supported by Shopify. Shopify processes information about visitors in order to provide, secure, analyze, and improve its platform and the services it provides to merchants and visitors.

Depending on Shopify’s features, the Site’s settings, your location, and your privacy choices, Shopify may use information obtained through your interactions with this Site together with information from your interactions with Shopify or other Shopify merchants. This may support services such as security, fraud prevention, analytics, personalization, platform improvement, and, where enabled and legally permitted, advertising-related features.

Shopify may act as a service provider on my behalf for some processing and may be independently responsible for other processing. You can learn more by reviewing the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy:

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site and Shopify may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies. These technologies may be used to:

  • Keep the Site functioning correctly;

  • Maintain security and prevent misuse;

  • Remember privacy or Site preferences;

  • Measure Site traffic and performance;

  • Diagnose errors;

  • Understand how visitors navigate the Site; and

  • Provide Shopify features that are enabled for the Site.

Some technologies are necessary for the Site to function. Other technologies may be used only where permitted by applicable law or after consent has been provided.

Where a cookie banner or privacy-preferences control is available, you can use it to manage applicable non-essential technologies. You may also be able to block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may affect the operation of some Site or Shopify features.

I do not independently use Site visitor information to build advertising profiles or receive payment in exchange for personal information. However, certain disclosures or uses made through Shopify features may be legally classified in some jurisdictions as “sale,” “sharing,” or processing for targeted advertising. Where applicable, you may use the Site’s privacy-choice controls, Global Privacy Control, or the Shopify Privacy Portal to exercise an available opt-out right.

How Information May Be Disclosed

Personal information may be disclosed only when reasonably necessary to:

  • Shopify, which hosts and provides the technical infrastructure for the Site;

  • Fiverr, when you choose to visit Fiverr, send a message, or place an order through that platform;

  • Service providers, if they are needed to operate, secure, maintain, or support the Site or an agreed project;

  • Professional advisers, such as legal or accounting advisers, where reasonably necessary;

  • Government authorities or other parties, when required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request;

  • Protective parties, when reasonably necessary to protect the Site, my rights, visitors, clients, or others from fraud, misuse, security threats, or unlawful activity; or

  • A successor or prospective successor, in connection with a legitimate reorganization, transfer, or sale of the portfolio business, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal requirements.

I do not maintain a business whose purpose is selling personal information.

Third-Party Websites

The Site contains links to websites and platforms that I do not control, including Fiverr and TechRevive. When you follow one of these links, the third party may collect information about you according to its own privacy policy, cookies, terms, and security practices.

For example, project inquiries and service orders initiated through Fiverr are governed by Fiverr’s own policies. Fiverr’s Privacy Policy is available at:

This Privacy Policy applies only to Blake’s Section Lab. It does not govern the independent practices of Fiverr, TechRevive, Shopify when acting independently, or any other third-party website.

A link from this Site does not give me control over the third party’s collection or use of information.

Retention

I retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was received, including to:

  • Respond to an inquiry;

  • Evaluate or complete a requested project;

  • Maintain appropriate project or business records;

  • Resolve a dispute;

  • Enforce an agreement; or

  • Meet legal, tax, accounting, or security obligations.

Messages and project records created through Fiverr may also be retained by Fiverr according to Fiverr’s own policies.

Shopify determines its own retention periods for information it processes independently. More information is available in Shopify’s privacy policies.

When information is no longer reasonably needed, I will delete it, anonymize it, or allow it to remain securely stored until deletion is reasonably possible, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Legal Bases for Processing

Where laws in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction require a legal basis, information may be processed on one or more of the following grounds:

  • Legitimate interests, such as operating, securing, maintaining, and improving the Site;

  • Steps requested before entering a contract, such as responding to a project inquiry;

  • Performance of a contract, when information is needed to provide an agreed service;

  • Consent, where consent is requested for non-essential cookies or another specific use; and

  • Legal obligations, when processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before consent was withdrawn.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to:

  • Ask whether I process personal information about you;

  • Request access to that information;

  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;

  • Request deletion of information;

  • Request a portable copy of certain information;

  • Object to or request restriction of certain processing;

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;

  • Opt out of certain data sharing, sales, or targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable law; and

  • Appeal a decision concerning a privacy request where local law provides that right.

I may need to request enough information to verify your identity and understand your request. I will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

Children’s Privacy

The Site is a professional portfolio and is not directed to children. I do not knowingly use the Site to collect personal information from children.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to me, contact me so that I can review and, where appropriate, delete the information.

Security

I use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the nature of the information I handle. Shopify also supplies security measures for its platform.

No website, online account, storage system, or method of transmission is completely secure. For that reason, I cannot guarantee absolute security. Visitors and potential clients should avoid sending passwords, payment information, access tokens, customer records, or other sensitive information through unsecured messages.

International Processing

Shopify, Fiverr, and other service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different privacy laws.

Where required, applicable service providers may rely on contractual safeguards, adequacy decisions, or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms. For more information about a provider’s international processing practices, review that provider’s privacy policy.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy when the Site, its features, service providers, or legal obligations change.

The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how personal information is used, additional notice will be provided when required by law.
